#45 Brand Focus – graze

3 Feb

As you may know from previous posts (my recent update and new years resolutions post), I am on a real health kick of late. Snacking was always my downfall, I was always reaching for packets of crisps or the odd chocolate bar. Well not anymore my friends. Say hello to graze and their famous boxes.

Here is the concept:

graze

They stock a wide variety of products. From popcorn to guilt-free high tea and flapjack to olives, graze has got it covered. You browse their collection of healthy goodness and rate them: bin, try, like or love. For example, me and nuts do not get on, so I bin everything with nuts in and so I will not be sent any of the nutty nibbles they stock. On the other hand, I am a sucker for their fresh breads and dippers so I like/love these so I will be sent these more often. Could it be any simpler?

The website is really user-friendly so even the greatest technophobe would get along with it. You are also able to choose what day you would like your box delivered and where abouts you would like it – at home, the office etc. I ordered my box last week and it came not so long ago.

So what did I receive? Well I chose for my box to be a light box so it includes super low calorie snacks. In my box was very nori-sh, apple cosmo, fruity mango chutney with black pepper dippers and summer berry compote with wholemeal shortbread. And oh my, yummy indeed. Another thing I love, is that graze includes all of the nutritional information of each of the products.

graze

It is really detailed so it is great for someone who is really looking at what they’re consuming. The packaging is great too, perfect size for your letterbox and the box is biodegradable and recyclable. Each snack comes in its own sealed pot, so they keep for a good amount of time too.

I really cannot rate the company highly enough, their snacks are delicious and completely guilt-free. Each box costs £3.89 including delivery which I think is a great price considering the quality and nutritional goodness that is inside!

Does graze sound like something you would like to try? Then try it for FREE, just visit the graze website and enter the code: T35NW2VD for your first box to be free! Go on, what are you waiting for?!

#22 Brand Focus – Latest In Beauty

4 Dec

Hi guys! Sorry for the lack of posts over the past couple of days, something awful has happened at my house. WE HAVE LOST INTERNET. It really has come at the worst time as everyone is stressing over deadlines and essays etc, so we are all hiding out at the various libraries until we can get it fixed! We have rang our service provider, so hopefully we will have our broadband back very soon. It is so weird being without it, how did people cope before?! So I am currently posting from a University computer until further notice. Sorry if posts aren’t up to scratch, I’m trying hard but I won’t have all the same software that I have at home. Please bear with me!

Today’s post is a brand focus – Latest in Beauty. I found out about this site not so long ago. I saw their beauty advent calendar that they have put together in collaboration with YOU magazine. I have to say that this calendar is incredible. Behind every door is a beauty product, featuring some great brands such as Benefit and L’occitane. It is great value too, it retails at £59.95 (+ £2.95 P+p) but is worth £210. If I had the funds it would definitely be mine and I would review each product for you, it looks amazing. After having a look at their advent calendar and checking out the rest of their site I decided to sign up. When you sign up, you are asked a few questions about your skin/make up/hair needs.

Latest in Beauty is a website where are able to purchase samples (some are full size) at a good price. This is a great idea, I love the whole ‘try before you buy’ concept. I love using samples as I am able to try products and seeing what I think of it before I have to part with my money. This is especially true when the product in question is high end and expensive. They also offer something they call their ‘Little Beauty Box’. You are able to order 3 samples to try. The samples offered to you are products that correspond with the answers to the questions you answered when you first signed up. I think this is great as the products are personal to your needs. For example, I have really dry skin (especially in the winter) and one of the products that came up for me was a moisturiser for dry skin. I ordered my little beauty box and it came within a couple of days. They have a fast delivery and great customer service, this is something I always look for in a company.

The products I recieved are:

1. Tresemme Split Remedy Trio

“There’s nothing like freshly-cut hair to add a spring to your step, but over time split ends can make your hair look frizzy and dull. Introducing Tresemmé Split Remedy. The revolutionary Reconstructing Complex repairs up to 80% of the splits you have in just three uses – try Split Remedy shampoo and conditioner together or any other product in the line – and with regular use keeps working to help prevent new split ends from occurring and visibly maintain repair. So you can now retain the look & feel of a salon fresh-cut for longer. Sample includes 3 x 10ml sachets of Split Mend Shampoo, Split Mend Conditioner and Split Mend and Protect Leave In Treatment.”

2. Lavera Organic Wild Rose Moisturising Cream

“Lavera Faces Organic Wild Rose Moisturising Cream is full of moisture-rich organic plant-derived fluids from organic grapes, organic peaches, and organic apricots along with moisture boosting hyaluronic acid and soya liposomes. When the liposomes touch skin cells they burst open with moisture-rich ingredients to provide your skin with long lasting moisture. Lavera Faces Wild Rose Moisturising Cream leaves skin feeling wonderfully smooth.”

3. Japonesque Beauty Fixation Cuticle Conditioner

There wasn’t any more description that that for product 3 I’m afraid! :) I am using these products at the moment, so hopefully there will be a full review of each product up soon! But I just wanted to let everyone know about this great site, and what it offers!

Fingers crossed my internet will be back up and running soon!

#17 Brand Focus – e.l.f

22 Nov

Another brand focus today! Sorry for the lack of posts, I am currently looking for a house for the next academic year which is so stressful. I have looked at around 7 so far and they have been so disgustingly messy! Anyway, I diverge. I have known about e.l.f for quite a while now, however I didn’t place my first order until October this year. I really don’t know why I didn’t place an order earlier.

I always read about e.l.f products in beauty blogs, and most have good reviews. When I saw that they had a 50% off offer when you spent £50, I finally gave in and placed a massive order. Overall, I purchased 16 items which gave a total of £29 when delivery was added. Complete bargain.

I brought a mixture of items – brushes, make-up, brush cleaners etc :) First thing to say is their brushes are incredible. My top two are their Studio powder and stipple brushes. £3.75 each and such good quality, giving an even application. I also brought a few eye brushes which are also of a good quality, even though they are just from the standard range. My other top products from this haul are the mineral moisturising lip tints in rose and guava, they are so moisturising and have a great pigmentation.

e.l.f always have great offers on their site (free delivery, free gifts etc) which can be oh so tempting! They communicate really well via twitter and facebook too. Delivery was super fast, I have no complaints at all! Great products, great service and at a great price. If you haven’t purchased anything from e.l.f. before I would definitely recommend them as a company!

#13 Brand Focus – She Said Beauty

14 Nov

I am a lover of social media. I may also love beauty products (I don’t know if you’re aware…). What do you get if you mix the two together? She Said Beauty. I had been thinking about creating a She Said Beauty profile for quite a while now but I never really got around to it. When She Said Beauty followed me on Twitter, they told me about linking my profile to my blog. It sounded like a great idea to me, so I went for it and joined!

When you join they ask you a few questions (skin type, hair type, favourite scents etc), I presume that these are used if you subscribe to their beauty box, so they can choose products tailored to you. Their She Said Beauty box is £9.00 (+ £2.95 P+P). I have been close to subscribing so many times in the past! (Hate being a poor student, It would be great to review on this blog though) The packaging looks really nice and feminine too.

Once you have completed your beauty profile, you can start customising your profile. I uploaded a photo, wrote a little bit about me, and changed my cover photo to one of their default images.

This is where the social media comes in. You can link in all of your different social media platforms to your profile. I have linked my blog and my twitter. My blog has been synced, so my new blog posts will also show on my She Said Beauty profile.

HOW COOL RIGHT? After I had finished customising my profile I started to like some of my favourite brands and products.

I had to restrain myself from spending hours going through products and liking them! As well as liking them, you can also review them. This is super handy;  if I was considering purchasing a new beauty product I could consult She Said Beauty and see whether it has been good for other people (especially handy if what you were lusting over was quite costly, nobody wants to spend £20 on a new product and it turns out to be rubbish!!)

Another thing I like about She Said Beauty is that they are really in touch with their users. They are always tweeting, and having conversations with users. They post links to articles and beauty debates too, so everyone can get involved. Everyone knows I love a good competition or freebie (just check my twitter page!) and they have those too! Can they do no wrong?

Overall, I think I may be in love. I love the concept of She Said Beauty, bringing together beauty and social media. It is a great opportunity for everyone to get involved and join the beauty conversation! You can follow other peoples profiles, comment on new posts, and become a beauty community!

Fancy joining? GO FOR IT :) Join me and so many others. My username is BFLifexo (the same as my Twitter), you can find my profile here.

#10 Brand Focus – Missguided

9 Nov

I am a self confessed lover of online shopping. It is quick, simple, and you can do it from the comfort of your home (or in my case, in my onesie on the sofa ha). I have recently stumbled across Missguided, and I am so impressed.

Their clothes are amazing, and are always band on trend. Their prices are so reasonable too! Another thing I love about Missguided is that they are so in touch with their customers. They are always chatting to customers on Twitter, and if their is a problem they respond soo quickly. As well as this, they are always doing flash sales, competitions, student discount, free next day delivery… the list goes on and on!

A few weeks ago I caved into this free next day delivery and bought my first Missguided items. I ordered the Kattley skater skirt (find it here) and the Frenchy disco pants (find them here). I posted a couple of photos of how I styled these on Instagram and here they are:

I love these disco pants. They are so comfortable as they are high waisted and really flattering. Another thing I love about them is that they are so versatile – you can dress them up or down. Here, I dressed them down and wore them to lectures. I teamed them with a maroon cardigan from primark, stripey tee from river island and my black loafers from new look.

This skater skirt was an absolute steal at £9.99, it looks so much more expensive than that. The style is so classic too and goes with everything. I wore the skirt to celebrate my housemate’s birthday a couple of weeks back. I teamed it with an ASOS vest and primark shoes.

Two versatile pieces, at £9.99 each, with free next day delivery AND student discount. I will definitely be shopping at Missguided again. What can I say? Missguided, I salute you. Please keep up the good work :)
